We all know a new season is a good reason to organise a satisfying shopping spree, and even though I’d love to go crazy on various trends right now (pink, vichy, floral: yay!) I always try to start with a proper foundation. For me that foundation consists of a couple of items that are true wardrobe staples, that go with everything and are always there to rely on. For spring, these are my ultimate wardrobe essentials:
More than being trending right now, I think we can all agree a trench coat is an absolute wardrobe icon. I love the fact that there are plenty of them in stores right now, and I have already spotted my dream coat. Will show it to you soon!
Cropped, straight jeans are my fave for spring, being able to bare even the slightest bit of skin feels so good after winter. Besides, I think they go with every type of footwear, which is a big plus.
The oversized (striped or white) shirt is something I will never grow tired off. It gives just the right amount of sophisticated ‘je ne sais quoi’ to an outfit and it’s such a versatile item. Furthermore, it’s the ideal item to play around with.
Flats are perfect for giving your feet a break every now and then and these slip ons that we see cropping up everywhere turned out to be the perfect basics for me. Whenever my feet are tired from wearing heels (or just whenever I feel like it) I love to just slip my feet into a pair of flats, that have this chique-but-not-really vibe going on.
Nothing feels as good as freeing your legs from tight jeans or winter tights then being able to wear a breezy midi skirt or a pair of wide legged culottes when the temperatures allow it. Ultimate spring feeling!
